In April 2025, one of our team members, Kathrin Pauritsch, visited the practice enterprise “Wunschglas e.U.” at the BBRZ Graz. Unlike traditional school-based practice enterprises, this ÜFA works with clients from diverse professional and personal backgrounds as part of their vocational rehabilitation journey.
What stood out was the active, guided onboarding: instead of learning from manuals, new participants are supported directly by peers or by Mr. Vogrin, the PE’s dedicated coordinator. This learning-by-doing approach helps reduce insecurities and builds confidence right from the start.
The PE operates across five departments – purchasing, sales, marketing, accounting, and administration – and encourages participants to engage in job rotation, helping them discover their interests and develop versatile skills. Personal preferences are considered from day one.
A key strength of Wunschglas e.U. is its strong feedback culture. Regular one-on-one conversations provide space not only for performance-related input but also for addressing personal challenges, fears, and future goals. The emotional well-being of participants is seen as central to their overall development.
Importantly, mistakes are welcomed as learning opportunities – as long as they are documented and made traceable for others. This builds a sense of responsibility and transparency within the team.
Wunschglas e.U. proves that a practice enterprise can be more than a place for skill development – it can be a space for rebuilding confidence, practicing teamwork, and preparing for future careers in a human-centered way.
