On behalf of eXpand International Consultancy GmbH, Sabrina Maier and Teresa Marczik successfully attended the Online Trading Day on 15 April, 2015 from 5.00 to 6.00 pm. Eleven other practice firms from the United States of America also took part at this event.
Each practice firm had three minutes to present their company and products including special offers exclusively for the Online Trading Day. Our presentation included a short overview of our practice firm, the location of Graz in the world map, the presenters, what products and specials we are offering and how to find our web shop. The presentation was followed by a Q&A-session, and the other practice firms had the chance to ask questions on our products.
In total we sold seven products, generating an additional turnover of USD 5,155 (approximately EUR 4,737) which is 146% higher than last year. In the following table the products sold are shown:

Achieving this success required a lot of preparation in advance. The marketing department of eXpand designed a presentation that represents the company and products adequately and informed themselves about the offered products and Online Trading Day specials. Mrs Prof. Riebenbauer from the management supported the team with the technical equipment needed for the 'Go to Meeting', which is the software that makes a live meeting with all the other participants possible.
Before the presentation slot opened a last check had to be made to ensure that speakers, web conference-software and microphone were working well and the internet was connected. About ten minutes before the Online Trading Day started, the log-in to the conference was possible and the organizer greeted the participants that were already online.
At 5.00 pm the presentation of eXpand started and was followed by a question round. The timeframe of three minutes for each presentation was not very strict, many other practice firms exceeded this time span. In this phase of the Online Trading Day it was very important to focus on the questions asked and to clarify if something might have been misunderstood. Giving appropriate answers is only possible if the presenters know the offered products very well.
The Online Trading Day is a good way of showing students how to manage business relations worldwide. Since there are almost no limits to communicate with the whole world via the internet, it is important to show how international meetings are being held. Nowadays, there are almost no companies that do not make business with companies from abroad. For a business graduate it is essential to be able to communicate with foreign companies in order to generate sales through exports or to purchase products from suppliers.
Through participating at the Online Trading Day, eXpand International Consultancy GmbH had the chance to foster one of the key elements of the eXpand strategy. Its internationalization.
