Concrete Thoughts About Digitalisation
Since 2017/18 the topics digitalization, sustainability and human-centricity are at the centre of most of our actions within the practice enterprise.
For our practice enterprise UniLine, digitalisation is not just a buzzword, we try to digitalise as many processes as possible while also acting in a sustainable way. Our aims are to increase efficiency, streamline workflows and reduce costs.
Collaboration throughout the different departments plays an important role for information and communication technology. We see the influence of digitalization on two levels of our PE-work: (1) at the business level in terms of business simulation and the possibilities collaboration-tools offer in terms of agile company structure as well as time- and location independent work.
Here a few examples: accounting is already done with the BMD accounting programme and our company is present through social networks (e.g., Instagram). Since autumn 2022, we have used Microsoft Teams for collaboration and communication purposes, meetings, file sharing etc.
Via remote access we also promote and improve working from at home. Doing so we are an achieved an almost paperless office and increased the sustainability of our actions. Apart from internal processes, videoconferencing offers new opportunity in terms of business growth.
We also want to install hybrid workplaces soon to gain flexibility in how and where we work from. For this reason, projects are currently underway in the various departments to further advance digitalisation. "Hybrid Working”
On a (2) pedagogical level we discuss the question, how digitalization changes the teaching- and leaning-experience in the practice enterprise setting. We consider the development of learning-opportunities for cognitive activation as well as co-development of evaluation tools for the degree of digitalization for practice enterprises.
