“Stiftung Warentest” – Different feedback methods

Giving feedback is an opportunity to get things out in the open so that issues can be resolved and employees can find ways to work together better. Moreover, feedback on a regular basis can prevent conflicts and improve your own learning processes, whereas lifelong learning is the main goal. Feedback plays a crucial role in education and learning by helping adopt new knowledge sooner, avoid repetitive mistakes. What is more feedback promotes the productivity and joy of the teachers and students. As the training company eXpand is operated at university level, which means that not only the business aspects are considered, but also the PF as a place of learning. Because of all these reasons, Learning Point is responsible for creating a positive feedback culture in our practice firm.

This semester the Learning Point has created a “Stiftung Warentest” for different feedback methods of the last semesters. This document is divided into three parts, namely online tools, offline methods, and methods that do not require any materials. So, in order to know which feedback method is the most suitable for you, the main advantages and disadvantages of the tools are listed in the tables. Since home schooling and home-office are still a topic, we recommend the following paperless tools: “Easy feedback”, “Survio” and “Oncoo”. If you want to impress with creative offline methods, we would use the “M&M's method”, “Traffic lights” or “Plickers cards”. Last but not least, if methods with minimal effort and preparation are needed, then “Flashlight”, “Name Feedback” and the “5-Finger Feedback” are just what you need.

PS: My personal favorite is the tool “Easy feedback”, as this method offers many different question types and templates. Furthermore, the method provides a detailed and real-time evaluation, which can be exported as an Excel- or PDF-file.
